An attorney and founder of the Saranow Group, LLC, Mitchell Saranow served on the Juvenile Protective Association (JPA)’s board of directors from 1981 until 2011. From 2001 to 2003, he held the position of board president. Following his resignation from the board in 2011, he was elected an honorary director in appreciation for his services.

JPA further recognized Mitchell Saranow’s outstanding contributions by presenting him with the Distinguished Service Award. In January of 2012, the former JPA executive director recognized Mr. Saranow’s leadership abilities and business acumen with this honor. The board of directors praised his loyal support, which has enabled JPA’s continuing growth and success over the years.

The Chicago-based Juvenile Protective Association is a leader in child welfare. The advocacy and treatment agency provides information, research, and counseling for social issues affecting children, including abuse, neglect, and domestic violence. JPA is committed to ensuring children’s safety and security through prevention, awareness, and education.


Businessman and former attorney Mitchell Saranow is the chairman and founder of the Saranow Group, LLC. Based in Northbrook, Illinois, the Saranow Group has established and operated several successful businesses. In recognition of his entrepreneurial talents and knowledge of corporate law, Mitchell Saranow has received academic appointments at business and law schools across the nation, including his alma mater, Harvard University. In 2011, he became a member of Chicago-Kent College of Law’s Entrepreneurial Advisory Committee. Chicago-Kent is an affiliate of the Illinois Institute of Technology.

The Entrepreneurial Advisory Committee was created in support of Chicago-Kent’s newest clinic, the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic. The Committee offers professional guidance in the development of an educational, hands-on program aimed at helping students counsel emerging companies.
